Honor picks up where other books left off in the Wagons West
Honor packs all the action of previous Dana Fuller Ross books in the Wagons West series. He leaves you hanging as to final outcome while finishing off other shorter plotlines. The details were authentic to the time period. Definitely a five star read and can't wait for the next volume in the series. Hope the author doesn't wait so long to complete this trilogy.

How to Survive and Grow Richer in the Tough Times Ahead

How to Survive and Grow Richer in the Tough Times Ahead
This work is well written. The author enunciates a theme which
depicts tough economic circumstances for the intermediate
future. He states that our government will cut taxes to place
more money into the hands of individuals. In addition, he
believes that consumers will be more discriminating in their
purchases because they will have less money. I find that the
key to the future is an investment in a good education and the
development of a satisfying career. In addition, real estate
has always been the classic investment vehicle for the future.
Many other investments have been unpredictable but real estate
has consistently risen in practically every market.
This book will help you to craft an investment strategy far into
the future. It is not a cure-all; however, many of the key
investment factors are explained simply and in understandable
english.

You Will Love This Book!
This is absolutely the best book on the subject of the human mind that I have ever seen. There are lots of pictures and plenty of different categories of interesting mind phenomena. This is not a reference or text book (thank goodness) but an owner's manual, as the editor says, and is fantastic for learning all about the latest findings about the mind or just casual browsing. You will love this book!

Instead of Education: Ways to Help People Do Things Better
Published in Hardcover by E P Dutton (April, 1976)
Author: John Caldwell, Holt
Average review score:

Let's informalize!
The message of this book, stated concisely, is that the world needs more and better scout troops, community music groups, Little League teams, karate academies, and other informal educational organizations. He would like to see such organizations grow to the point that they replace full-time schools with mandatory attendance. I'm not saying whether I agree or disagree, but I am saying that his opinion is worth thinking about.

If Holt never visited South Korea, I wish he could have. His dream is closer to realization here than it is in the United States. You can't walk a block without seeing a karate school, a music school, an art school, or a music school. Some of these schools hold class all day, some serve as after-school clubs, and some do both.

International Management
Published in Paperback by International Thomson Publishing (November, 1997)
Author: Holt
Average review score:

A excellent resource for the International MBA atudent.
I have been using this test as an additional resource in my International MBA studies. I find it a very current and practical resource for anyone working nor wanting to work overseas. I recommend it highly as have even recommended it to my professors. The highlight of the text are profiles on persons and companies overseas - their successes and failures. As these profiles are current and recognizable they are all the more interesting to read and to learn from.

Journeyman Electrician's Exam Preparation: Electrical Theory, National Electrical Code, NEC Calculations: Contains 1,800 Practice Questions
Published in Paperback by Delmar Publishers (January, 1996)
Authors: Michael Holt and Charles Michael Holt
Average review score:

Excellent theory review and NEC exam prep book
The first unit of this book begins with a review of electrician's math and electrical theory. This information forms the basis of our electrical installations, but the working electrician does not have an opportunity to review the math or theory behind his/her work each day. A review of this nature is very essential before we begin the study of more in-depth calculations in the NEC. Throughout this book, code questions are intermingled with examples and illustrations. Mr. Holt has a way of making the complicated requirements of the NEC make sense. This book is very good at providing instruction in performing the sometimes difficult calculations and reading the numerous tables in the NEC. There are many practice problems included to help reinforce the material covered.

I have used this book as the text for an exam preparation course that I teach. On many occasions, students have remarked on the quality and clarity of this text book. Numerous students have used other study books, and have found Holt's book to be superior.

Kasper in the Glitter
Published in Audio Cassette by Chivers Audio Books (December, 2000)
Authors: Philip Ridley and David Holt
Average review score:

brilliant book, I like reading it again and again,
I first read this book when I was about 12, and for two years it has remained one of my favourite books ever. It was a bit weird, but that only added to it's air of intrigue and made it even more original. It was in small sections which are easy to read and it was easy to understand. It did not get boring, as some books do, and there were always twists and turns in the storyline that kept me interested. I would definately recommend this book to anyone of any age.

Kentuckians
Published in Hardcover by Houghton Mifflin Co (June, 1953)
Author: Janice Holt Giles
Average review score:

The Kentuckians, Janice Holt Giles
This is absolutely one of the finest books about the early pioneering in our country. Giles writes in a low-key manner, but brings vivid pictures to the mind as the reader follows the travels and travails of one of those pioneers as he makes his way through the wilderness of the Appalachian Mountains into the "wilds" of Kentucky and a new life. As a new-comer to Kentucky in my middle twenties, back in 1957, "The Kentuckians" was a great introduction to the strength and character of those earliest developers of this State.

My first meeting with Ms. Giles' novels actually came through her third novel in this particular series: "The Believers", wherein the granddaughter of those first settlers becomes involved with the Shaker Community in Kentucky. THAT was so beautifully written, that I HAD to go back to read about the protagonist's parents ("Hannah Fowler") and then on back to "The Kentuckians". Each book was better than the first!

And each book drew me in so closely to the people and places involved that I felt as though I was right there and each left me hating to leave their presence! If the Kentuckians ever is reprinted in hardback, I'll be the first in line!

Knave of Hearts

Average review score:

A Simply Fantastic Historical Romance Novel !
This is the first book I've read written by the author. I absolutely love this novel and it has become one of my favourite books. This novel is warm-loving and has given me a lot of surprises and excitement. I admit I hate to put it down when I've finished reading it. The book emphasizes on family bond, romance and friendship. From the novel, I have learnt about the history and life in France in the 18th century; the great landmark of Paris - Notre Dame, the reign of King Louis XV and Louis XVI, the riots and revolution in Paris and the bad situation between France and England during that period. This book has really made an impact on me as I have become interested in the history of France in the 18th century. Three cheers for the author and the book " Knave Of Hearts" !
